-15 year old Damani signed by Team HARD-
Teen sensation Damani Marcano has been signed by Team HARD for its young driver development programme for the 2015 season and beyond. After only two years of racing on the karting circuit Damani has progressed through the ranks at a great speed and is now moving into race cars in the 2015 VW Racing Cup, with the end goal of racing in the British Touring Car Championships (BTCC).
In 2012 Damani took 1st place in an arrive & drive karting series, racing against drivers with years more experience than him. As he stood on top of the podium at Rye House, the same track that double Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton began his career on, he realised that this was his dream. Damani finishes his karting career at Rye House on 7th December where he is all set for another top 3 finish in the club championship.
Damani demonstrates the huge potential of young people, showing that with determination and support teens can accomplish great things. As Damani continues his career in motor racing he hopes to inspire other teenagers to get involved and look at new ways to generate funding for participation in this sport.

It will be quite a learning curve for me as I’ve never raced in cars before – I’m too young for a road driver’s license! I will juggle school with training as I have my GCSEs next year but I’m determined to
make it work. I’m proud to show that if you work hard and dream big, great things can happen, my dream is already becoming a reality!”

Damani will pilot a fully race prepared VW Golf GTI R Cup Car in the Volkswagen Racing Cup alongside regular proven and experienced racing drivers. Racing in the VW Cup will be Damani’s first step on a multi-year programme to eventually race in the British Touring Car Championships (BTCC)
