If you hadn’t heard the news, as of 1st of December 2014 I was signed to Team HARD’s Young Driver Programme for 2015 and beyond! I’ll be starting out in the VW Racing Cup in a Golf GTiR Cup Car. This is a massive step for me and I couldn’t be taking it without the support of Tony Gilham, owner of Team HARD.
Team HARD brought a fair amount of financial backing. Without it this move wouldn’t be possible. I’ll still need to find some more sponsors to get the most out of the year and I’m working hard on that already.
This will be a huge learning experience. I’m racing in cars for the first time and against very experienced adults! I expect to make several rookie-mistakes through the year but I know I will learn from them. Having Tony Gilham’s experience and confidence behind me makes me feel that, over the next few years, anything is possible. I’m going into this year with no expectations, just mega excitement about racing such an amazing machine!
